2019 Guber Race: Mass Mobilization Movement Commended For Grassroots Mobilization For Wike …As Pro-Wike Groups Swell In Rivers

(By Ayo Okubre )-A group known as Mass Mobilization Movement, MMM, a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, grass root mobilization initiative, Rivers State chapter, has been commended for their commitment to mobilizing support for Governor Nyesom Wike administration and his re-election in 2019.

The commendation was made by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters and Strategy, Barr. Emeh Glory Emeh, while receiving the executive members of the group in his office in Port Harcourt on Thursday.
Chief Emeh noted that the presence of the Mass Mobilization Movement initiative is an addition to the numerous other groups that are promoting the good works of the governor preparatory to the 2019 election.

“This is the second time I am meeting with your organization and I am happy to say that we are proud of your modus operandi of door to door campaign to galvanize support for Governor Wike.

“You are certainly on the right direction because what is needed is to reach out to the grass root and ensure that the people of Rivers State as well as non indigenes who appreciate Governor Wike’s good works in Rivers State possess the Permanent Voter’s Cards.

“There is no doubt that, if you do election one million times in this state, Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike’s PDP will come out victorious irrespective of the designs by the opposition APC to introduce a new approach of violence in the state’s electoral process.

“I want to further thank you for your road map to achieving the objective of re-orientating the electorate to identify with Governor Wike using his performance as a yardstick”, the political strategist further stated.

He re-assured members of the Mass Mobilization Movement of the determination of the governor to put Rivers State in the front burner of national discourse and politics, stressing that Rivers State is lucky to have Governor Wike at this point in time when leadership is needed for the state to move forward.

Earlier in his address, the Director – General of Mass Mobilization Movement, Hon. Derefaka Adubo, had told the special adviser that their visit was to inform him of the programme of the group, even as he added that they are currently undertaking a tour of the local government areas of the state, and are scheduled to be in Etche on Thursday.
Hon. Derefaka reiterated the commitment of the organization to be counted among those who made Governor Wike’s re-election in 2019 a reality and thanked the special adviser for the audience and warm reception accorded the delegation.

In his own remarks, the Rivers State Chairman of the group, Comr. Lawrence Chinwo, informed the special adviser of their commitment “to go from unit to unit, ward to ward, local government to local government areas of the state to consolidate Governor Wike’s 2019 mandate”, while disclosing that MMM has a numerical strength of over five thousand members per local government in the 23 local government areas of the state.

He also intimated their host that they had made similar visit to the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, Sir. Felix Obuah, to inform him of a proposed solidarity visit to the governor of the state.

Comrade Lawrence Chinwo further briefed the Special Adviser to Governor Wike on Political Matters and Strategy, Barr. Emeh Glory Emeh, that they are currently running an empowerment programme for one thousand widows across the state, as their own contribution to advancing the governor’s poverty alleviation initiative which is captured in both civil servants interest free loan scheme and that of youth entrepreneurship programme.

The state chairman of Mass Mobilization Movement, who was very grateful to Chief Emeh for his promise to work with the group during the 2019 guber election campaigns, assured of a mutually rewarding partnership with the office of the special adviser.
