South – South governors who are members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have vowed to work for the victory of all candidates of the party, including Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential candidate and his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa, in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
This indication was given after a meeting of four South-South governors at the Bayelsa State Government House, Yenegoa on Wednesday.
The governors who attended the meeting included Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State; Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom state; Godwin Obaseki of Edo State and Senator Douye Diri of Bayelsa State.
They also explained that the issues involving the aggrieved five governors led by the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, were being addressed, adding that the PDP presidential candidate will.meet with them soon.
The four South South governors were unanimous that the aggrieved G-5 Governors are part of the PDP family, and that everything was being done to reconcile all differences to enable the PDP move together as a family.
In his remarks, Governor Douye Diri described the South-South as the home of the PDP, assuring that the party will emerge victorious at all levels in the forth coming elections.
