Attempts by the Federal Government  to takeover the sum of  £4.2 million recovered from former Governor James Ibori of Delta State  for the funding of three projects  has been blocked by the House of Representatives following a motion by Ndudi Elumelu and nine other members of the house   also from Delta stateon Wednesday. blocked e federal government said on Tuesday the £4.2 million recovered from former Governor James Ibori of Delta State would be used to fund three major projects.

Premium Times reports that, the United Kingdom government will in the next two weeks return to the Nigerian government about £4.2 million recovered from  Ibori, his associates and relatives, sequel to agreements signed by representatives of both the U.K. and Nigerian governments signed an agreement for the return of the money to Nigeria in Abuja on Tuesday.

According to Premium Times,the protesting lawmakers had contended that the  said the £4.2 million, being proceeds of looted funds recovered from Mr Ibori, belonged to the people of Delta state.
