King Ateke Tom of Okochiri Kingdom

(By Iheanyi Ezinwo)-Okrika ethnic nationality of Rivers State used to be known for crises of varying proportions. However, all that has become history, and the credit for the sustenance of peace in the area goes largely to HRM King Ateke Michael Tom, JP, who was crowned Amanyanabo of Okochiri in Okrika about a  year ago.

It would be recalled that, one of the notable personalities at his coronation, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, had charged the new King to, among other things, continue to invest in the sustenance of peace in Okrika, a charge which, from all indications, appears to have been taken seriously.

Both Okochiri and the entire Okrika have significantly enjoyed peace, unity and progress in the last one year, the reasons, perhaps, why the people are grateful to God.

Sources close to the palace of the Amanyanabo, a notable philanthropist and peace advocate,  indicated that an anniversary celebration of peace and progress of Okochiri kingdom under King Ateke comes up soon.
