(By Chris K.Amadi)- Hon. Azubuike Odum, former member of the Rivers State House of Assembly (199-2003) has collected the Interest and Nomination forms to participate in the primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and hopefully carry the PDP flag in the 2019 general election.
Speaking with newsmen after collecting the forms at the PDP secretariat in Port Harcourt on Friday, Chief Odum, said he is offering himself for service because the people of Emohua are not being given adequate representation.
His words: “ As a former lawmaker in the state, I felt that Emohua people are not being given proper representation. And at this point in time, I have to identify myself with the feelings and aspirations of my people who are clamouring for a change”.
The Ndele born politician boasted that he can give the kind of representation that Emohua people are yearning for, but which has been lacking.
“I can give adequate representation to the people of Emohua State constituency. As a man who has been tested and trusted, my chances of winning is not less than 90 percent because, in all the wards, nook and cranny of Emohua local government, the people are clamouring for a change”, the former caretaker committee chairman explained, even as he thanked God almighty for His mercies.
The House of Assembly hopeful was also full of praises for Governor Wike for providing a level playing ground for all aspirants; Sir. Felix Obuah, chairman of PDP in the state, for insisting on free and fair primaries, and the leadership of PDP in Emohua local government, for their commitment to the development of the area.
Responding to a question, Chief Odum said the governor of Rivers State has done so well in infrastructural and human capital development, as well as in the promotion of peace in the state. He called on Rivers people to continue to support the administration, because, according to him, the success of Governor Wike is the success of every Rivers person.
