(By Silas Ofori)- President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election bid was given a boost on Tuesday with his endorsement by the Pan Yoruba group, Afenifere, led by Sen. Ayo Fasanmi.

News Agency of Nigeria,NAN, reports that Afenifere publicly endorsed Buhari’s re-election at a Yoruba Summit held in Ibadan, following a motion moved by Sen. Olabiyi Durojaiye and supported by Prince Tajudeen Olusi (Lagos), Elder Yemi Alade (Ekiti), Prof. Bayonle Ademola (Ondo), Chief Solomon Akindele (Oyo), Mr Sooko Adewoyin (Osun), women group led by Mrs Kemi Nelson and youth groups.

Before moving the motion, Durojaiye was reported as saying that the motion in favour of Buhari’s re-election was in consideration of the landmark achievements of the administration in the last three and half years.

Speaking at the event, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, a Yoruba man, lauded the Pan Yoruba group for their support for the All Progressives Congress- led federal government and sued for unity among Yoruba sons and daughters to enhance the development of the area.
