Widows and the  elderly in Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area of Rivers State on Wednesday, 11 January, 2023 got a taste of things to come when the Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, in Rivers State, Sir. The presentations were made through the SWITCH-ON Outreach, a Non- Governmental organisation envisioned by the PDP governorship candidate in line with Fubara’s well known tradition of sharing with others, especially with the vulnerable members of the society at all times.

Represented by the organisation’s team leader, Mrs. Sotonye Toby Fulton, the Rivers PDP gubernatorial candidate encouraged the beneficiaries to keep faith, assuring them of a future that is bright and colourful.

The widows and eldery were also advised to safeguard their PVCs in preparation for voting the PDP, especially in the March 11 governorship polls, to enable their son, Sim Fubara, to build on the legacy of the Executive Governor of Rivers State, Chief (Barr) Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.

Responding, the elders and widows declared their support for the PDP governorship candidate, praying for his landslide victory at the March 11 governorship election.

They also commended Governor Wike and the party for the honour done to the riverine as well as the Ijaw nation in particular, and the Rivers South – East Senatorial District as a whole by supporting their son, Sir. Siminalayi Fubara to emerge as the governorship candidate of the ruling PDP in the state.
