( By Jackson Owhor) – The Chief Of Staff, Government House, Port Harcourt, Engr. Chukwuemeka Woke, FNSE, has commended Prof. Chituru Orluwene, Provost at the Rivers State University School of Medical Sciences, for his perseverance, and for achieving success despite the unfavourable circumstances that confronted him early in life.

The Chief of Staff was speaking at a reception organised by Mgbu – Owhor group of houses of Mgbuitanwo in the Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State in honour of Prof. Chituru Orluwene on Thursday, December 30, 2021, charged people not to allow unfavourable circumstances to define or limit his aspirations in life.

“Professor Chituru Orluwene didn’t get to where he is today by luck but by hard work.
Despite losing his father at a tender age, he never gave up on his dreams”, adding that, with persistence and optimism, the old student of Government Secondary School Emohua was able to define all odds to emerge a giant in academics and an outstanding member of the society.

Engr. Emeka Woke, who further stated that people can only be limited if they want to be limited, stressed that it takes one with courage to become a professor of medicine after losing ones father at a tender age and attending a local school.
