(By Silas Tamuno) – Corps members have been charged to leave lasting legacies in the communities where they are posted to serve for the one year national service.
Rivers state NYSC Coordinator, Chief Chinwendu Ogbonnaya Chukwu gave the charge today when he presided over the closing ceremony of 2021 Batch B Stream 1orientation course for corps members deployed to Rivers state at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Nonwa-Gbam, Tai LGA.
He commended the corps members for being disciplined throughout their 3 weeks stay on camp, noting that the high of discipline exhibited by them is an indication that they are equipped and well prepared to make positive changes in Rivers state in particular and Nigeria at large.
Chief Chukwu further urged the corps members to respect the culture and traditions of their host communities while assuring them of government’s commitment to their welfare and security always.
He also warned them against traveling without permission, especially against night journeys.
The low key closing ceremony was attended by all camp officials.
