(By Chris K.Amadi) – Following the sudden death of the Executive Director of Finance at the crisis-ridden Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Chief Ibanga Bassey Enang, on Thursday, the headquarters of the commission along the Port Harcourt – Aba express way has been shut shut down and all staff directed to vacate the complex. They were further advised to go on self-isolation for two weeks while the premises are being decontaminated.
This indication emerged from an internal memo dated 28th May 2020 with reference no: NDDC/HO/HAHR/3, and which was signed by Silas Anyawu on behalf of the management.
Meanwhile, there are strong fears that the Executive Director may have died of coronavirus, as the directives and shutting down of the NDDC complex appear to be consistent with the protocol on dealing with CONVID -19 cases. The commission, according to the memo is to remain shut for two weeks from 28th May, 2020.
Recall that the fraud infested NDDC, which was set up as an intervention agency in the Niger Delta has since been turned into a money making machine by some political gladiators and their collaborators in the commission, and presently a forensic audit is on going to unravel the looting of so many years and the characters behind them.
