(By Iheanyi Ezinwo)-The 23 council chairmen in Rivers State who were sworn in on Monday by Governor Nyesom Wike have been charged to emulate the exemplary leadership style of the governor which has been inclusive and people oriented. The charge was given by the Special Adviser to the Governor of Rivers State on Political Matters and Strategy, Barr. Emeh Glory while responding to questions from newsmen after the swearing in ceremonies in Port Harcourt, adding that Governor Wike’s uncommon performance in the past three years is a product of commitment, patriotism and hard work.
“The chairmen are ambassadors of the State Government and indeed the Governor and must be prepared to replicate Governor Wike’s and of course the Peoples Democratic Party’s blue print at the local Government level.
“Nothing will gratify the governor and widen the scope of development than this. I have no difficulties to believe that, given the painstaking process our leaders followed to get to where we are today, that the sky will be the limit of our great party.
“ Wike has adopted the governance of inclusiveness which has helped to unite our people with all shades of opinion and broken all the age long barriers of ethnocentric separatism”, the political adviser emphasised.
Glory Emeh commended Governor Nyesom Wike for providing a conducive environment for the peaceful coexistence of diverse peoples of the state, reiterating the popular opinion that there is no alternative to Governor Wike in the 2019 governorship election.
The political adviser, who further hinted that, even the blind can hear the sounds of excitement across the state from appreciative Rivers people following the numerous impact ful projects and people oriented policies of the current administration, urged the citizens to remain law abiding and support the new council helmsmen to bring development closer to the grassroots.
