(By Chris K.Amadi)-The Special Adviser on Political Matters and Strategy to Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Chief Emeh Glory Emeh, has expressed confidence that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, remains on course and stable, and therefore the party to beat in future elections in Nigeria.
The former commissioner for transport and aviation during the administration of Dr. Peter Odili in Rivers State said he had no difficulty to believe that the citizens of Nigeria have come to realize that the major opposing party, the All progressives Congress, APC, has lost focus, and therefore has allowed the ship of the state to drift, and gradually sinking.
Speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt on Monday, Barr. Emeh said: “I have no doubt that the APC has failed the citizens of Nigeria. It is no longer a story to the citizens that APC has lost focus and cannot continue to steer the ship of state of the nation. There is therefore the craze for positive change in 2019 and PDP is adequately rebranded and sufficiently prepared and ready to provide the much needed positive change to the people of Nigeria”.
The political strategist further said: “Here in Rivers State, it is like Carmel passing through the eye of a needle for any persons to defeat Governor Nyesom Wike in a free and fair election. That is why, it is now a popular view in Rivers State that, there is no alternative to Governor Wike in 2019, given the fact that he has demonstrated to the people of the state that capacity and ability to perform should be the precondition for voting anybody into office”.
On whether or not Senator Godswill Akpabio has defected to the APC as being reported, Governor Wike’s Special Adviser on Political Matters and Strategy said:
“I don’t want to dwell on speculations. The people who defect don’t defect on thin air. Akpabio is a very popular politician, so if he wants to take a decision as important as moving from one party to another, I think he will do it publicly, and until that happens I will not be able to comment on the matter”, Barr. Emeh Glory Emeh concluded.
