(By Chris K. Amadi)-Volunteers, who are committed to sensitizing and mobilizing support for Governor Nyesom Wike’s re-election in 2019 had been advised to take their campaigns to the grassroots. The charge was given by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters and Strategy, Barr. Emeh Glory Emeh, while receiving Wike Volunteers, a group of young volunteers in support of Wike’s re-election when they paid him a visit in his office in Port Harcourt.
The Special Adviser thanked them for the wonderful display of patriotism and love for Wike and Rivers State, while describing the governor as an experienced politician, who has demonstrated that he was adequately prepared for governance and stands out as a leader with the best quality followership in the state.
While celebrating the significant successes achieved by Governor Wike administration in a short but impressive period of three years, Chief Emeh reiterated the earlier affirmation by various organizations mobilizing support for the governor, that there is no alternative to Wike in 2019, the man, according to him, who has been decorated with multiple awards and honours, including Commander of Order of the Niger, Grand Service Star of Rivers State, Pride of Rivers State and Apostle of Peace.
The political strategist also recalled his prediction of the disintegration of the All Progressives Congress over a year ago while on that part of the political divide, but added that his early discovery of the contradictions in the party inspired him to return to the PDP, his political home, with over 8500 former APC members.
Earlier, the leader of the team, Barr. Martins U. Okirie had informed the special adviser that the purpose of their visit was to intimate him of their activities and to also seek collaboration with his office.
Barr. Okirie further explained that Wike Volunteers is made up of young men and women, who have followed with keen interest the outstanding performance of the governor in the past three years, and decided on their own to initiate a programme of reaching out, not only to persons of like minds but also to those who appear to be on the fence.
They described themselves as harbingers of good news of the monumental achievements of Governor Wike in Rivers State, stressing that Wike has proved to be a trust worthy leader by working very hard to fulfill all his electoral promises to electorates of Rivers State.
