Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike of Rivers State

(By Iheanyi Ezinwo)-Members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, In Rivers State have been told that every other power bows before the almighty God, who knows all things and can enthrone and dethrone leaders as He wills.

This observation was made by Rt. Rev. Wisdom Ihunwo, Bishop of Niger Delta North at the dedication of the Rivers State PDP 2019 campaign to God on Sunday at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Port Harcourt.
Bishop Ihunwo, while urging the politicians to give glory to God, posited that God does not share His glory with another but humbles anyone who takes the glory due to His name.

Asking what next after the dedication, the man of God warned that the saying: “Heaven helps those that help themselves” is unscriptural, and that the society needs men and women that demonstrate fear of God in all their undertakings.

The man of God reiterated the need for politicians to give their lives to God first, as, according to him, it was condition precedent in any transaction with God, even as he hinted that God wants the politicians to do what He wants them to do, and not what they want to do.

Also speaking at the dedication ceremony, Governor Nyesom Wike said it is the tradition of the PDP in the state to go to church before any major programme, even as he explained that the PDP is not making promises but wants to continue what it started.

In a related development, Hon. Sam Ogeh representing Emohua State Constituency at the Rivers State House of Assembly has said that the service was evidence that the PDP recognizes the place of God in the success of any project, hence the dedication of their 2019 campaigns to God.

He further explained that the odds overwhelmingly favours the PDP to win the 2019 elections in Rivers State, and that the party will also perform creditable at the national level because of the alleged failure of the ruling All Progressives Congress to fulfill the legitimate expectations of the Nigerians.
