The Rivers State Government has officially flagged off celebrations of the Christmas Season at the Port Harcourt Pleasure Park .
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, his wife, Justice Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike, their children and dignitaries, Sunday night witnessed the brief ceremony marking the commencement of the season in the State.
A statement by Governor Nyesom Wike’s Special Assistant on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu, said the wife of the Rivers State Governor, Justice Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike flagged off the Christmas Season on behalf of the Rivers State Governor.
According to the statement, this is the third year in a row that the Rivers State Government is flagging off the annual Christmas Season at the Port Harcourt Pleasure Park.
The Wife of the Rivers State Governor also flagged off the Christmas Fireworks which enlivened the Garden City and thrilled guests at the Port Harcourt Pleasure Park.
Justice Nyesom-Wike said : “We thank the Rivers State Governor for the vision of converting the former Borrow Pit to this Excellent Pleasure Park. It has turned out to be a beautiful relaxation point for families in Rivers State.
“To the Glory of God, I cut this tape to the benefit of Rivers people and for their enjoyment of this Pleasure Park , in the name of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.”
