(By Iheanyi Ezinwo)-The feathers of Hon. Azubuike Wanjoku, elected to represent Ikwerre State Constituency at the Rivers State House of Assembly in the current political dispensation, were recently ruffled when his leadership of Ikwerre Youth Movement, IYM, was sacked by an emergent faction of the group over allegations of gross misconduct.
Speaking with newsmen after a meeting in Isiokpo, the traditional headquarters of Ikwerre people in Rivers State, Hon. Felix Worlu accused Azubuike Wanjoku of unlawfully extending the tenure of his administration, abuse of power, and for being overage, among other offenses, adding that a new executive have been appointed under his leadership to direct the affairs of the body.
However, in his response, Hon. Wanjoke declared that the sack of his executive was baseless, that he remains the Director General of Ikwerre Youth Movement, challenging any one who is aggrieved to go to court.
Meanwhile, the emergent leadership under Hon. Worlu has promised to give the welfare of its members a top priority.
