The Central Bank of Nigeria has said that the 31 Janyary, 2023 deadline for the return of old naira notes stands, and has not been shifted.
Legit reports the CBN as using its verified various social media pages on Friday, 13, January 2023, to remind Nigerians that the deadline will not be extended.
It would be recalled that Oresident Muhammadu Buhari launched the redesigned notes of N200, N500, and N1000 on November 23, 2022, with the CBN promising that the new currency notes would be in circulation on December 15, 2022.
However, many Nigerians are worried because of the few pieces of the new notes that have been released close to the 31 Janyary deadline for the N200, N500 and N1000 notes to cease to be legal tender.
