Law School, Port Harcourt Campus Named After Nabo Graham Douglas

(By Chris K. Amadi) – The Port Harcourt campus of Nigeria Law School whose ground breaking was performed on Saturday has been named after an illustrious son of Rivers State and a distinguished legal practitioner of his own generation, Nabo Graham Douglas, Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

Making the declaration at the ground breaking ceremony at the old site of School of Nursing on Saturday  in Port Harcourt, Chief Emeka Ngige, Chairman of Nigeria Council of Legal Education said that  the council had no difficulties granting the request of the state gov Olumide  Apata, National President of  Nigerian Bar Association.

Recalling that the late Graham Douglas had at different times served as Attorney General in Rivers state, Eastern Nigeria and at the centre, Chief Ngige said that the recognition was well deserved.

It would be recalled that the late Nabo Graham Douglas had also served as chairman of Council on Legal Education, happened to be the first lawyer in Rivers State to obtain a Ph.D in law, and was among the first set of senior advocates of Nigeria in the early 70s.

In his address, Governor Nyesom Wike said that the Port Harcourt campus would enhance the capacity of Law School to absorb more students, and also help to boost the economy of Rivers State.
