(By Iheanyi Ezinwo) – All appears not be well with parents of students in the final year (Senior Secondary 3) at Cita High School located at Umu-Chokota in the Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State. The said N1.8m, according to a document dated November 14, 2019 and made available to Notable Outcome by an aggrieved parent who wanted to remain unanimous, indicated that the amount covers fees for two terms (Easter-2nd , and Summer-3rd terms).
A break down of the amount, as contained in the correspondence to parents and signed by R.T. Ebiye-Koripamo, included N1.3m as school fees ( Easter term and Summer term) and N533,000 to cover WAEC, NECO, IGCSE, extra lesson, extra boarding – including feeding, and administrative charges, bringing the total which must be paid before the resumption of next term to N1,833,000.00.
When Notable Outcome contacted the proprietor of Cita High School, Roland Koripamo, on the number that we were told belonged to him, the receiver of our call said he was not the proprietor but one of the parents at the school. He further said that his child was not in SS3 and so unaware of the development.
Meanwhile, sources close to Cita High School told Notable Outcome that the public should be wary of certain information until they are confirmed by school authorities, adding however that, it is within the authority of management of the school to come out with policies that , in their opinion, would enhance the performance of their students.
