(By Amie Ofori)-The World Technovation Challenge has ended Thursday night in the United States of America with Nigeria winning the gold medal ahead of other competing nations. Wabiye Idoniboyebu, on his Facebook wall had reported that Nigeria was represented by five female students of Regina Pacies Secondary School, Onitsha in Anambra state; namely, Promise Nnalue, Jessica Osita, Nwabuaku Ossai, Adaeze Onuigbo and Vivian Okoye.

We gathered that, the team, led to the World Technovation Challenge in the Silicon Valley in San Francisco by Uchenna Onwuamaegbu Ugwu, according to Wabiye, defeated representatives of other technological giants including the USA, Spain, Turkey, Uzbekistan and China to clinch the gold medal.

Meanwhile, the girls who are now being referred to as Africa’s Golden Girls reportedly won the challenge with a mobile application called the FD-Detector which they developed to help tackle the problem of fake pharmaceutical products in Nigeria.
