Nigeria’s COVID-19 Cases exceed 1000

(By Chris K.Amadi) – The record of COVID-19 infections in Nigeria exceeded 1,000 on Friday following reports of additional 114 new cases by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

Channels Television reports the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control ,NCDC, as saying that 80 of the new infections were recorded in Lagos, 21 were in Gombe and 5 were recorded in the FCT.

The distribution of the 114 new cases are as follows:

80 in Lagos
21 in Gombe
5 in FCT
2 in Zamfara
2 in Edo
1 in Ogun
1 in Oyo
1 in Kaduna
1 in Sokoto

Nigeria’s total deaths from the virus now stands at 32 while 208 have recovered and returned to their homes.

Globally, the United States has recorded 50,360 deaths and 884,004 infections while about 81,338 patients have recovered. Italy has 25,969 deaths and 192,994 confirmed infections; Spain has been hit with 22,524 deaths and 219,764 infections; France has 22,245 deaths and 159,828 infections while Britain with 19,506 deaths and 143,464 infections.
