The alleged victim in the sex-for-mark scandal, Monica Osagie, has appeared before the committee set up by the management of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun State.
The committee was set up to probe the allegations against Professor Richard Akindele who allegedly in a viral an audio recording of a telephone conversation demanded sex from Osagie for mark.
The committee on Tuesday sat at the Pro-Chancellor’s Lodge which is located on the campus.
However, only Osagie and her lawyer were allowed into the venue as the entrance was manned by the OAU security personnel.
Journalists were barred from attending the sitting.
The Vice Chancellor of the OAU, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede, told journalists that the student appeared before the committee.
The university had earlier suspended Professor Akindele following the recommendation of the committee in their interim report. (channelstv)
