Azubuike Odum for demonstrating exemplary leadership, especially for leaving behind the sum of 16 million naira at the end of his two month tenure as caretaker chairman at the Emohua Local Government Council.

,  Godwin Okocha, Uchendu Chinedu of Ward 5; Eze Moses of Ward 4; Igwe Godpower of Ward 14; Enyinda Owaka of ward 2 ; Clement Dimkpa, ward 10; Woke Chihosim, ward 14 and others described Hon. Odum as a tried and trusted leader but lamented the neglect of PDP ward secretaries in EMOLGA in appointments and other forms of empowerment since after the 2015 elections, regretting that, they have nothing to show for their sacrifices and support for the party since 2012 when they were inaugurated.
The ward secretaries said they are demanding for change because of unbearable suffering and neglect of the youths in EMOLGA because of lack of support and empowerment from leaders who are not friendly to the youths.
They eulogized the Ndele born politician for being the first to recognize the worth of watd secretaries in the local government and promised to work with him as well as fight for any one who has the interest of the people of Emohua at heart.
In his own submission, Justice Azunda Chinule of Ward 3 applauded the testimonies of Chief Odum’s exemplary leadership, as demonstrated during his brief stay as caretaker committee chairman, and for leaving the sum of 16 million for his successor and current chairman of council, Hon. Tom Aliezi. He also pledged the support of the ward secretaries for Hon. Odum while, while urging him to remember his promises if he is favoured to return to the Rivers State House of Assembly where he was privileged to represent Emohua State constituency between 1999 and 2003.
Justice Azunda Chinule reiterated that the secretaries have suffered so much humiliations and neglect since 2012 when they were inaugurated, and after the 2015 elections, but assured the aspirant of a level playing field during the primaries of the party.
The ward secretaries also passed a vote of confidence on Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, saying that he has justified the confidence of Rivers people – with infrastructural and human resources developments, in addition to an inclusive administration where no part of the state is left behind in appointments and government projects.
Earlier, Chief Azubuike Odum had thanked the ward secretaries for keeping the flag of the party flying since 2012 when they were inaugurated, even while some have left. He also lauded them for their supports for Governor Wike, leader of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State; Sir. Felix Obuah, chairman of the party and leaders of PDP in Emohua Local Government Area, and called on them to join hands in support the governor’s re-election.
The former member of Rivers State House of Assembly hinted that he called the meeting to rob minds and to work with the ward secretaries. Chief Odum said he also wanted to use the opportunity to inform them that he has collected the forms to contest for the Rivers State House of Assembly, and that he is ready for the primaries.
“I have collected the form and prepared for the primaries. I cannot succeed without your support. If I succeed all of us have succeeded and those who work will be recognized and rewarded accordingly. Governor Wike has ruled out imposition and asked every aspirant to go back to their constituents and seek their blessing. I need your support, and I know that with your support I will succeed”, he summed.
