The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Elders Forum, Chief Ferdinand Anabraba and chairman of the PDP in Rivers State , Bro. Felix Obuah have jointly appreciated the good works of the newly inaugurated Wike Solidarity Movement, WSM in Port Harcourt.
Speaking at the ceremony , Chief Anabraba said the large crowd of supporters that graced the occasion is evidence that Governor Ezenwo Wike is the people’s choice.
Meanwhile, in his own remarks as chairman of the occasion, Bro. Felix Obuah extolled the sterling qualities of Governor Wike, stressing that he is a rare gift to the state and called on them to continue to give him support.
The PDP state chairman lauded the founder and members of WSM and other Wike support groups for their contributions, adding that their activities are complimenting the efforts of the party and assured them of the support of the PDP in the state.
Governor Wike was represented at the event by Chief Emeh Glory Emeh, Special Adviser on Political Matters and Strategy, who extended the governor’s apologies for his unavoidable absence because of other pressing state matters.
The governor lauded the founder and chairman of Board of Trustees of Wike Support Group, Dr. Gabriel Pidomson for the thoughts and setting as well as the objectives of the movement , describing WSM as a mass movement both in structure and in content.
He explained that each of the organisations that are galvanising support for Wike will finally aggregate at the party secretariat at the appropriate time .
The governor also lauded the efforts of the leadership of Grassroots Development Initiative, GDI, Good Governance to Good Governance,G4G, the Source Connect, Non Indigenes Without Borders World Wide, Committee of Rivers Patriots, COSPA, National Association of Rivers Daughters, Rivers NEW Vision Women, Popular View Support Group and other Non Governmental Organisations working as volunteers for Wike 2019 and urged them to increase the tempo as they move towards the actualisation of the objective of re-electing Barr. Wike as governor of the state in 2019.
He further said that all organisations are independent of each other and should cooperate where necessary to achieve the common objective, while hinting that it was the reason why the leadership of other organisations supporting Governor Wike’s re-election were invited to witness the inauguration of the Wike Support Movement.
