(By Jackson Owhor) – Since the passing of Chief Kennedy Woke, elder brother of the Chief of Staff, Governement House, Port Harcourt, Engr. Emeka Woke, about a week ago, people from all walks of life have been thronging to Chief Emeka Woke’s residence at Isiodu Emohua, and his official residence in Port Harcourt to condole with the family over the loss.
Among those who visited the Chief of Staff in his official residence in Port Harcourt on Tuesday were the executive members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Rivers State, led by the State Party Chairman, Amb. Desmond Akawor.
In his remarks, the Rivers State Chairman of PDP, Amb. Desmond Akawor, said it was very necessary for them to identify with the bereaved family, and the Chief Of Staff at such a trying time, and prayed God to grant the family the heart to bear the irreparable loss.
In their own separate visit, the Emohua PDP leadership caucus led by Chief Paul Wonodi also called to commiserate with the Chief Of Staff, Government House, Engr. Emeka Woke over the untimely death of his elder brother, Chief. Ken Woke.
Speaking at the event, Chief Paul Wonodi said they visited to mourn with the family, and at the same time to console one another other, because, according to him, the sad development affected all of them. He however urged the family to be of good courage and put their trust in God, who knows everything.
Responding, Engr. Emeka Woke thanked Amb. Desmond Akawor and the PDP family for the great love and care shown to him and Woke’s family, and promised to inform them when the burial date is slated. The Chief of Staff further said that, he wished the late Ken Woke, his elder brother were alive to see the level of love and care being shown by people, even as he prayed God not to allow such kind of misfortune to befall the family again.
