(By Iheanyi Ezinwo)- The unprecedented flagging of, and commissioning of projects in all nooks and crannies of Rivers State by the administration of Governor Nyesom Wike has been commended for setting a standard in governance for other leaders to emulate at the state and national levels. This observation was made by Dr. Gabriel Pidomson, Chairman, Board of Trustees of Wike Solidarity Movement, WSM, in an encounter with Notable Outcome’s publisher, Iheanyi Ezinwo in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
The Ogoni- born politician and former Secretary to Rivers State Government said he is excited with the numerous projects executed by the governor in so short a time, and in an environment where difficult terrain used to the alibi for limited development.
“ As a Rivers man, I feel very happy. What he has been doing is not just commissioning, he is commissioning and also flagging off, which means there are two things: initiating new projects and commissioning of projects that have been completed.
“And by the number of projects that he has commissioned and the ones he has flagged off, it only goes to say how serious the governor is in developing the state. In three years, Wike has executed over an hundred and thirty seven projects across all the nooks and crannies of the state, irrespective of the terrain.
“Normally, they used to say that Rivers State has a bad terrain, that it was difficult to develop the state. But Wike has shown that it is possible for a governor that is committed to the development of the state to undertake projects in every local government area and in every village in Rivers State.
“ So I feel very happy as a Rivers man. And as a politician, I am also highly elated; and as a leader, I am challenged. And as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, I feel overwhelmed because Wike has shown that he has capacity, and he has set a standard that all of us will have to emulate”, Dr. Gabriel Pidomson, former member of the Rivers State House of Assembly asserted.
