(By Iheanyi Ezinwo)-Following the recent commissioning of some projects by the administration of Governor Nyesom Wike across Rivers State, critics who allege that the administration is concentrating developmental projects in Port Harcourt and Obio/ Akpor Local Government Area have been described as myopic, unrealistic, and not in tune with current realities in the development efforts of the current administration of in the state.

This observation was made by the Managing Director of Eastern Wrought Iron Limited, Prince Charles Beke, in a chat with Notable Outcome in Port Harcourt.

Prince Beke explained that, while other parts of the state are not left out in the execution of projects, that the two local governments of Port Harcourt and Obio/Akpor together form the capital city of Rivers State and therefore requires special attention as the first port of call for visitors to the state.
The businessman also argued that the urban renewal efforts and the strategic infrastructural developments in the two cosmopolitan sections of Rivers state are aimed at improving the quality of the environment with a view to attracting investors to the state.

He maintained that Governor Wike has touched all the local government areas with people-oriented projects, adding that all the projects do not have the same completion dates.

Prince Beke lauded the governor for his developmental initiatives in Emohua Local Government Area, just as he urged the youths to protect government projects in their localities and continue to embrace peace for sustainable development in the state.
