(By Silas Ofori) – Governor Nyesom Wike’s immediate past Special Adviser on Political Matters and Strategy, Barr. Emeh Glory Emeh, says that Kalabari ethnic nationality have reaffirmed their support for the Rivers State Governor, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, in the remaining two years as well as in his future political career.
The observation was made by Barr. Emeh Glory Emeh, Badu Oha Omekwa Eli Anya Emohua Kembom, while speaking on the sidelines of the flagging off of the sandfilling of over 52 hectares of mangrove forest at Abonnema and Obonoma in the Akuku – Toru Local Government Area on Wednesday.
Emeh Glory Emeh, whose experience in the politics of the state spans over four decades, described Governor Nyesom Wike as a political scientist, who has built bridges across the 23 Local Government Areas, and have thus earned for himself recognition as a detribalised leader.
Barr. Emeh, who is also a political strategist further said:
” From our sample survey accross the state, it is obvious that our people have come to the conclusion that Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has endeared himself to the people of the state such that no one bothers about where their leaders come from.
” Listening to the Amananyabo of Abonnema today, we have no difficulties in concluding that Governor Wike is indeed the Pride Of the riverine communities of Rivers State.
“By sandfilling as well as constructing over 16 kilometers Trans-Kalabari road – traversing several riverine communities in Akuku Toru, Asari- Toru and Degema: the three coastal Kalabari Local Government Areas which were neglected by previous administration, Governor Wike has removed the traditional reverine and upland dychotomy, and has teansformed Rivers as a united state where no part of the state is neglected on account of tribal or political differences
Barr Emeh, who is a strategist in Politics and Governance further said:
“Instead of primordial sentiments, capacity and ability to perform should be the pre-conditions for identifying leaders in the mould of Governor Wike, who has been recognised as the Pride Of Rivers State by Rivers people.
“It will therefore not be difficult for the state to choose a leader in 2023 using Governor Nyesom a Wike as a model”, the former Commissioner for Transport and Aviation concluded.
