The Rivers State House of Assembly has approved Governor Nyesom’s request to access

15 billion Naira loan from the Central Bank of Nigeria to boost the state’s infrastructural development drive.
Leading the debate at the Assembly on Friday, Majority leader, Hon. martins Amaewhule argued that the Governor took the right decision to access the loan because the facility was available to all, and that other states have already accessed it.
Stressing that the money belonged to all the states of the federation, including Rivers state, the lawmaker clarified that the repayment period of 20 years at five percent interest, with three years moratorium make the offer an attractive one.
Other lawmakers who spoke at the seating also supported the approval of the loan.
In his ruling, the speaker, Rt. Ikuiny Owaji- Ibani, after dividing the house declared their support for the loan to enable the Governor sustain and complete the infrastructural revolution going on in Rivers State.
