(By Iheanyi Ezinwo)-The people of Rivers State have reaffirmed their belief in the trustworthiness and capacity of Governor Nyesom Wike to continue to provide leadership and governance in the state.
Speaking when a volunteer group known as Wike Volunteers For 2019 visited him in Port Harcourt, Special Adviser to Governor Wike on Political Matters and Strategy, Chief Emeh Glory Emeh, thanked the volunteers for the visit and kind words expressed about Governor Wike, assuring that their confidence is not misplaced.
The special adviser further described Wike as a rare breed given to the state by God, and at the right time when the state was in dire need of honest and qualitative leadership.
His words: “I want to thank all of you for coming and I am happy that you were not prompted by anybody. This number of volunteers from across the 23 Local Government Areas is eloquent testimony that Governor Wike’s performance is felt by our people across board irrespective of ethnic and political divide.
“I want to assure you that, what you have seen is a tip of the iceberg. He will continue to promote the ideals of the people of the state and leave a lasting legacy in the sands of time in the state. Wike will continue in 2019 when he commences second term in office to instill new spirit of times and promote fresh commitments.
“Thanks again for volunteering to work for Wike, the award winning governor also known as Mr. Project, honoured with Grand Service Star of Rivers State, GSSRS; Commander of Order of the Niger, Power of Sports (Africa) and Dike Ogu of Rivers State.
“Feel free to call on me at anytime for support for your mobilization. Meanwhile, your leader should pick up a small token for your logistics”, he said.
Further urging Rivers people to ignore the antics of opposition All progressives Congress in the state, which he said is already so fragmented, with disillusioned membership, Chief Emeh Glory Emeh reasoned that, if it is a matter of performance, even the blind can hear the sounds of numerous achievements and uncommon transformation going on in the state under the leadership Governor Wike, the reason, according to the special adviser, Support Popular Group declared that there is no alternative to Wike in 2019.
Earlier in his address, leader of Wike Volunteers For 2019, Comrade Barr. Ignatius J. Wakama, had intimated the special adviser that they were in his residence to explain the structure and objective of the organization, which he said is a volunteer group that is supported from personal contributions and sacrifices of members.
“We love what Governor Nyesom Wike is doing in the state. We appreciate his commitment and sincerity of purpose. We are proud of his doggedness in the defense of the integrity and security of the average Rivers man. That is why we are determined to work with your office in order to ensure the re-election of Wike in 2019.
The visitors also used the opportunity to thank the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters and Strategy, Chief Emeh Glory Emeh for his unflinching commitment in promoting the laudable achievements of Governor Wike administration in the state, stressing that his labour and that of other well meaning Rivers people will not be in vain.
