All who live and do business in Rivers State, especially in Andoni, Bonny, Ikwerre, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni, Obio/Akpor, Port Harcourt, Gokana and Asari-Toru local Government Areas have been implored to take advantage of the new voter registration centres approved by the Independent National Electoral Commission for the state to register and get the Permanent Voter’s Card.
The call was made by the Special Adviser to Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike on Political Affairs and Strategy, Chief Emeh Glory Emeh while receiving members of National PDP Professional and Business Group who visited him in his office in Port Harcourt.
The special adviser, who expressed confidence that the new registration centres will help to enhance the voting strength in Rivers State, also called on all the political parties, traditional and opinion leaders, and other organisations to mobilise the people to ensure that all eligible voters are captured.
Barr. Emeh, who was former chief of Staff, Government House thanked them for the visit. “ Governor Wike is a pragmatic and result oriented political leader with enormous capacity to continue to provide support to the party for good governance. He is also dependable ally in the promotion of unity in the Nigerian project”, he said, while calling on the orgnisation to continue to mobilise for the party.
Speaking earlier, coordinator of PDP Professional and Business Group in Rivers State, Dr. Isaac Jaja, on behalf of their national coordinator, Hon. Arime Salifu had told the special adviser that thy were in Port Harcourt to seek audience with the governor ahead of their retreat slated for the end of March in Port Harcourt.
He commended Governor Wike for his role in stabilising the party and also for the emergence of Prince Uche Secondus as the national chairman of the PDP.
Dr. Jaja further informed his host that the organisation was founded in 2011 and presently has branches in all states of the federation, including Abuja, and that the PDP Professional and Business Group participated in most of the committees during the last national convention of the party.
