(By Ofori  Amie)-Journalists in Rivers state  have been urged to continue to support  the administration of Governor Nyesom Wike in order to advance the course of development in the state.

This advice was given by the Special Adviser to Governor Wike on Political Matters and Strategy, Barr. Emeh Glory Emeh, while receiving in audience the executive members of Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, in his office in Port Harcourt on Friday.

The Special Adviser, who described Governor Wike as a leader with the milk of human kindness and who is permanently concerned about the welfare of the entire citizens of Rivers State, stressed that vote for Wike in 2019 is vote for continuity, progress and prosperity of the state.

“When you work for a man who is committed to the well being of the people, you are working for progress and prosperity of the governed. This is where you can situate Governor Wike in Rivers State, and in the natural progression, we do not have any reason not to remain resolute in our collective resolve to ensure that we continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy in the manner we are doing by way of infrastructural and human resources development, particularly the speed with which the state is growing, just only three years of Governor Wike being in the saddle.

“Wike has continued to show loyalty to the people of the state. One of the examples of this is the celebration of the 70th birthday anniversary of another patriot of the state, Dr. Peter Odili, just few days ago.

“Your guess is as good as mine what his second term will look like, because,  according to our local proverb, a good dance starts with the first step and a good market will be seen in the morning.

“Governor Wike fits into the two proverbs, the reason why Rivers people are united in their opinion that, there is no alternative to Wike”, the political strategist maintained.

Chief Emeh Glory Emeh  further thanked the NUJ for the effort they are making in  ensuring that members of the union, both indigenes and non indigenes in Rivers State, obtain their Permanent Voter’s Card, even as he maintained that PDP is rooted in Rivers State.

The political strategist promised to partner with the NUJ in the state on issues that are in tandem with the policies and programmes of the Wike administration, describing Governor Wike as an exemplary leader who has justified the confidence reposed in him by the people of the state- as a leader they trust.

In his remarks, the Chairman of NUJ in the state, Stanley Job Stanley, commended the Special Adviser for the good works he is doing in promoting the policies and programmes of Governor Wike.

Mr.Stanley Job Stanley also  commended  Governor Wike for his developmental strides, particularly in the area of infrastructural development,  just as he used the opportunity of the visit to commiserate with Governor Wike on the demise of his Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Hon. Emmanuel C. Aguma,SAN, who he described as a quintessential legal luminary, who has distinguished himself in his chosen career and left indelible marks in the practice of law.

The NUJ chairman reiterated the  commitment of the union in mobilizing members and the general public in support of the exemplary administration of Barr.  Nyesom Wike in the state.
