(By Woke Odogo)Engineer Sampson Ngerebara, Election Planning Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State and former Commissioner of Works in Rivers State during the administration of former Governor Rufus Ada George has been expelled from the party.
A source from within the party hinted that the Andoni born cerebral politician may have become the latest victim of the infighting in the Rivers APC because of the party’s 2019 governorship ticket.
It would be recalled that Senator Magnus Abe, representing Rivers South East senatorial district, with his large following in the party has since spoken out against the old order of imposition in the Rivers APC, a move that has provoked open sanctions from the party leadership under Davies Ikanya, who appears to have the backing of former Governor Rotimi Amaechi and Dr. Dakuku Peterside, Director General of NIMASA and defeated governorship candidate of APC in Rivers State in 2015.
We further gathered that the former student union leader at University of Port Harcourt in the early 80s may not survive the hydra headed, and desperate supremacy battle in the Rivers APC , hence the counsel in some quarters for him to look for refuge elsewhere, as according to insider sources, the divisions among members of the Rivers APC over 2019 have boxed the likes of Engineer Ngerebara to the an uncomfortable corner that he has to take his political destiny in his hands.
When Notable Outcome contacted Engineer Sampson Ngerebara on phone to confirm the story, he was rather interested in the source of the information instead of confirming or denying the story that he has been expelled from the Rivers APC.
