Senate President, Ahmed Lawan

(By Chris K. Amadi)- The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC,  Senator Ahmed Lawan today won the election to serve as President of the 9th Senate. He won by getting the votes of 79 senators out of the 107 present out of the total 109.

His only challenger, Ali Ndume from Borno State got only 28 votes, while Senator Omo-Agege from Delta State defeated Senator Ike Ekweremadu to emerge Deputy Senate President., making it all APC affair.

Meanwhile, former Governor Rochas Okorocha, who reportedly witnessed the voting process could not participate because of the Independent National Electoral Commission was yet to issue his Certificate of Return.
