Stanly Job Emerges New Chairman Of NUJ, Rivers State Council

(By Chioma Peters)-The Rivers State Council of Nigerian Union of Journalists have elected a new executive council with Stanley Job Stanly, as chairman for the next three years. The election in which all the candidates were elected unopposed saw Paul Bazia emerge as vice chairman and Ike Wigodo as secretary among others.

Speaking after his election, Mr. Stanley Job Stanley, thanked members of Nigerian Union of Journalists, Rivers State Council, for the trust reposed in him and his team, assuring that they will not disappoint. He promised and inclusive administration, priority attention to welfare of members as well as training and retraining of journalists.

The election which took place on Thursday, was preceded by a Tri-annual Conference where Prof. Okon of the Department of Mass Communication at the Rivers State University, called for sanctions for electoral offenses in order to enhance the credibility of the electoral process.
