Former governor of Lagos State and national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has revealed that it has been lifelong ambition to become president of Nigeria, and that he has informed President Muhammadu Buhari of his intention to contest for the position of president in 2023.
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who boasted that he has the confidence, the vision and the capacity to build on the vision of President Buhari made this declaration in a chat with State House correspondents after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday.
Responding to a question, Tinubu said:
“I have informed the President of my ambition but I have not informed Nigerians yet, I am still consulting”, adding that there is nothing that stops him, and that the president did not discourage him from contesting.
Meanwhile, political analysts who spoke with Notable Outcome in Port Harcourt commended Asiwaju Tinubu for his experience and consistency in politics, stressing that health and age were no limitations for a man of vision and courage like Tinubu who has the capacity to advance the course of development in Nigeria.
