(By Chris K.Amadi) – Plans appear to have reached advanced stages for the commencement of assembly of vehicles in Akwa Ibom State with Isreali standard technology. On completion of installations, the vehicle assembly plant, according to reports can produce 108 cars and 56 buses in two weeks, and to achieve this goal, over 3000 persons would be sent abroad for different kinds of training that would last for six weeks.
We gathered that the project is being driven by MIMSHAC MERKAVIM automobile plant that is located in Akwa Ibom State, and that the Managing Director, Valentino Okorie, has assured that the assembly plant, which was at 90 percent completion, would soon commence operation.
Notable Outcome gathered that the plant has six production lines with capacity to produce 5 conventional vehicles, 18 cars/SUVs, 56 buses in two weeks, and 30 luxurious buses and conventional vehicles in one month.
Meanwhile, economic analysts who spoke with Notable Outcome in Port Harcourt have commended Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom State for being focused and setting the pace in the Niger Delta in attracting enduring projects that have direct bearing on the wellbeing of his people. They further lauded him for not only professing commitment to the industrialization of his state, but for doing so relentlessly and providing an enabling environment for business to thrive.
