(By Chris K.Amadi)-“You don’t need to ask this type of question if you are living and doing business in this State. What you are seeing here in Ahoada is just eight local government areas that make up Rivers West senatorial district. I am sure you were at the Liberation Stadium, now known as Yakubu Gowon stadium, when Rivers East had their own rally. That stadium was filled to the brim and over flowing to the foyer. Same happened at Bori when Rivers South East also endorsed Governor Nyesom Wike for second tenure.
“Today, you can see the mammoth crowd from just eight local government areas of Ahoada West, Ahoada East, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni, Degema, Asari-Toru, Akuku-Toru and Bonny. Just eight local government areas is what you are seeing here today. How else can a political party be said to have adequately prepared for an election in the next year? This is particularly against the background that Governor Wike has prepared the ground by the quality projects he has provided across the state. There is no local government in the state that has not felt the impact of the utility, people oriented, signature projects of the government”.
These were the words of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters and Strategy, Barr. Emeh Glory Emeh, while responding to journalists at Ahoada township stadium during the Rivers West senatorial district rally on Monday.
Chief Emeh was full of praises for the Rivers West senatorial district for the mass mobilization, even as he asserted that “when you are prepared for an examination, you are not bothered about the type of question you meet”. He however advised Rivers people to be vigilant and guard their votes against the antics of the opponent APC in the state.
The political strategist further said: “As for winning the election, you can use the words of the lawyers when they say that, it is a fait accompli. The taste of the pudding is in the eating and when a messenger has done well in the first message , the master, who in this case are the electorates, will be desirous of sending him back again on a similar errand. The Ikwere people have a proverb: It is only the person that knows the egg of the cockerel that can pick it out in the midst of other eggs, including that of the foul.
“ Governor Wike has shown experience, capacity and commitment to governance that, using the words of the Support Popular View Group, there is no alternative to Wike in 2019 election”, Chief Emeh Glory Emeh maintained, even as he called on Rivers people not to misplace their future, as according to him, only an organized person can plan for the people, not disorganized people like the All Progressives Congress .
