We Predicted Fall Of APC Long Ago – Former Chief Of Staff

(By Chris K. Amadi)-The recent turn of events in the fold of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in Nigeria, and by extension across the 36 states and Abuja, including particularly Rivers State, is not strange to political watchers and gladiators.
This is the view of the former Chief of Staff, Rivers State Government House and currently Special Adviser to Governor Nyesom Wike on Political Matters and Strategy, Chief Emeh Glory Emeh, while speaking on the sidelines of the 40th anniversary celebration of Hon. O.C.J. Okocha, SAN, at the bar, on Tuesday, in Port Harcourt, recalling that, during his brief stay in the APC, he for saw that it was made up of strange bedfellows; who had no focus, no direction and therefore not organized.
According to the political strategist, who had served in four governments in Rivers State: two military and two civilian, he had no difficulties concluding that the shocking defections at the National Assembly on Tuesday (July 24) is a tip of the iceberg.
“If you recall, I had said at several fora that APC is just existing on the lips of those who have no where else to go. I had also said that the level of distrust, lack of focus, lack of direction and inordinate ambition of its members cannot advance the cause of the party at the national level and in Rivers State.

“What you are just witnessing is a sign of monumental disaster to come in the next couple of weeks and months. It is because the party is made up of political neophytes- you can see how easy it was this morning for the Saraki group to outsmart those who had plans to unseat him.
“But you know, the Bible says that you must not touch the anointed. He who is with God is majority. This is what played out this morning”, the Special Adviser stressed.

Speaking further, Chief Emeh explained that, in the case of Rivers State, that the PDP is sufficiently on ground and accepted by the people of the state.
“We have said time without number that, given the outstanding performance of Governor Nyesom Wike in Rivers State, the coast is very clear for his re-election in 2019.

“That is the reason why Rivers people have come to the conclusion that Governor Wike , as Commander of Order of the Niger; Grand Service Star of Rivers State, Power of Sports in Africa, Ambassador of Peace in Nigeria, Pride of Rivers State and Dike Ogu of the state, has no alternative in 2019.

“I therefore call on the people of Rivers State to ignore those who believe that they will use force to wrestle power in the state. We know power belongs to God and He bestows it on anybody he has chosen. When He makes His choice, no one can change it.

“All our people need is to close ranks with the governor to enable our state achieve the destination God has set out for us, and which Wike is driving with conscious patriotism and commitment, and our people are beneficiaries of it ”, Barr. Emeh emphasized.

Speaking on Hon. OCJ Okocha, SAN, and the celebration of his 40 years at the bar, Chief Emeh Glory Emeh, said they have always looked up to the Senior Advocate of Nigeria as their idol in legal practice.
“For those of us who are lawyers, we dream dreams that we should be as tall as him, not in the physical sense, but the extent he has reached in the practice of law.

“I have known him when I was younger. We have followed his exemplary humility and dedication to what he believes in. We are happy that we are part of the epoch making ceremony of his 40 years as an accomplished lawyer, dedicated family man, patriotic and full fledged Rivers elder and leader. We thank God for him and his family”, the political strategist summed.

Meanwhile, Chief Emeh Glory Emeh has congratulated the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Prince Uche Secondus, and members of the National Working Committee, for their excellent negotiating skills and good understanding of Nigeria’s political terrain, wishing the party huge success in the days ahead.

He also commended the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, for his exceptional skills, experience and sagacity in political administration, as well as the defectors in both chambers of the National Assembly, for making the wise choice. The special adviser however urged others who are still on the fence to take advantage of the opening now and join the PDP, as, according to him, the APC is a sinking ship.
