By Iheanyi Ezinwo)-The Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ikuinyi Owaji-Ibani, has declared that Governor Nyesom Wike of the State has been obeying all the rules of engagement in the relationship between the executive and legislative arms of government.

The speaker made the observation at the presentation of 2019 Appropriation Bill by Governor Wike at the Rivers State House of Assembly in Port Harcourt on Monday.

He further explained that the budget will enable the governor to continue to carry out the duties associated with his office, and also improve the well being of Rivers people.

Rt. Hon. Owaji-Ibani stated that the last three to four years of the administration of Governor Wike has been eventful, with massive infrastructural development across the state, adding that the Assembly under his leadership is proud to be associated with the success story of the administration.

In his address, Governor Wike announced a budget of N480 billion, christened: Budget of sustainable growth and development. He said the objectives of the 2019 budget includes promotion of economic growth and diversification, as well as improvement in the standard of living of the citizens.

The 2019 Appropriation Bill was subsequently given a first reading. The budget presentation was witnessed by top government officials, including the Deputy Governor of the state, Dr. Mrs. Ipalibo Harry-Banigo.
