Wike Should Support Security Agencies, Not Declare Any One Wanted -Abe

(By Chris K. Amadi)-The declaration of some youths of Rivers State wanted on Tuesday by Governor Ezenwo Wike over alleged violation of terms of amnesty is not going down well with Senator Magnus Abe, who is representing the Rivers South East senatorial district in the National Assembly.
Speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt Tuesday, the senator explained that it is the security agencies that are in a position to invite any one accused of committing an offense, carry out investigations, and if necessary declare a person wanted if he refuses to honour their invitation.
He however pledged his support for all the efforts being made by individuals, the state and federal governments to ensure protection of lives and property in the state, just as he called for sincerity of purpose to achieve set goals.
The senator pleaded with all stakeholders to forget their differences and work in synergy to evolve effective ways and means of tackling the security challenges in the state.
Responding to a question, Senator Abe said he has no intention to leave the All Progressives Congress, APC, for any reason, stressing that, as a founding member of the party in the state, he remains committed to its ideals of doing things the right way, and do not have any plans to move to another party where there are no standards.
On Ogoni cleanup, the senator explained that he is not satisfied with work done so far but said that he is working through acceptable channels to increase the speed of the project,  even as he assured of the commitment of the federal government to match its words with action on the Ogoni clean up.
In a related development, the estate of Don Wanny, the alleged cultist who was killed on Sunday over his alleged involvement in the new year eve killings and other security threats in Omoku and its environs was pulled down Tuesday on the orders of Governor Wike.
The action, according to the governor is to serve as a deterrent to others, even as there are moves to strengthen the anti-cultism law in the state.
