Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State

(By Iheanyi Ezinwo)-The Special Adviser to Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike of Rivers State on Political Matters and Strategy, Chief Emeh Glory Emeh says that Governor Wike has shown sufficient love and passion for Rivers people- as a state and individuals – such that support for Wike is the last bus stop for greater majority of Rivers people who owe him a duty to reciprocate.
Chief Emeh, who restated his earlier stand that there is no alternative to Governor with regards to the 2019 general election, was speaking at a sensitization rally organized by Grassroots Development Initiative, GDI, to conclude their state wide voter education tour of Rivers State, at Rumueme in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area  recently.
He described Governor Wike as a leader ahead of his time, who had, in close to three years redefined service and given to the people a new lease of life by the numerous people oriented utility projects that are spread across the state.
The former Commissioner for Transport and Aviation was full of praises to the thousands of defectors led by Hon. Curtis Dike, assuring them that, in Governor Wike, the people of Rivers State has found a leader they can trust, stressing that there is enough room and opportunities for all of them no matter when they joined the governor.
He commended the Grassroots Development Initiative for the role the organization played in the emergence of Governor Wike and the sustenance of support for the Peoples Governor since 2015.
The Special Adviser advised GDI and its leadership not to regard the over 37 Wike Support Groups in the state as competitors but rather as partners in the Wike project for 2019.
Earlier in his welcome address, President General of GDI, Hon. Bright Amaehwule had explained that the rally was the grand finale of a programme to sensitize the people to obtain their PVCs as a tool to return Governor Wike to office in 2019.
He condemned leaders of the All Progressives Congress in the state for their hate speeches and envy, but advised them to appreciate what the governor has done for the people of the state.
In their speeches, the Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ikuinyi Owaji – Ibani; Majority Leader of the state Assembly , Hon. Martins Amaewhule; Commissioner for Health, Prof. Princewill Chike; Hon. Emeka Olowu, Special Duties Commissioner; Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Obio/Akpor, Hon. Chikwuemeak Aeron; Secretary General of GDI, Hon. Samuel Nwanosike; Caretaker Chairman of Obio/Akpor Council, Hon. Prince Noble Amadi and Prince Timothy Nsirim, former Obio/Akpor Council chairman were united in their opinion that Governor Wike has shown that it is important to be adequately prepared and ready before venturing into public service.
All the speakers extolled the sterling qualities of Governor Wike in providing quality services to the people of the state, and urged him not to be distracted by the antics of failed opposition politicians.
In his speech after defection, leader of decampees, Hon. Curtis Dike, together with the Hausa and Yoruba leaders thanked the governor for opportunity given them to return to the party, declaring that, it is important to belong to an organised system like PDP while condemning APC as a group of strange bedfellows without direction or focus.
The decampees, numbering over 1700 promised to be loyal to the party leadership, while maintaining that, with the decision, APC in the various constituencies can better be described as nonexistent.
